The Address is a free immersive ethno-documentary performance on housing in Côte-des-Neiges. This performance is co-produced with Amplifier and will be presented in May 2019.
The Address is a multimedia immersive ethnographic and documentary performance on the Right to Housing in Côte-des-Neiges borough of Montreal. This series of performances engage Montrealers into the heart of housing issues, through the live encounter of individuals whose firsthand experience subvert mainstream assumptions about housing and accessibility.
In this unique performance, the audience, instead of sitting passively in an auditorium, physically travels through an intermedia environment to listen to, and engage with, residents and their stories. Taking place in a non-theatrical and non-institutional space in Côte-des-Neiges, this show uncovers the voices of tenants, landlords, members of organizations defending the rights of tenants, activists, politicians, inspectors and real estate developers. The Address’ goal is to provide a horizontal and circular space for dialogue, one that can only exist in a well-crafted plural performance setting, a craftswomanship envisioned by VISIBLE.
The Address is a response to the 360°ethnography carried through by Amplifier, click here for more information on their investigation #Amplifier CdN.
